New move and sick kids......

Back in September at the reception dinner for Kristin and Joey's wedding (my BFF who I was living with), they surprised everyone with the news that they were expecting a bundle of joy. I'm so over the moon excited/happy for them but with that news, it meant it pushed my search of a new place to live up. Everything is so darn expensive and with me going through lawyer stuff right now, expenses are tight. My parents mentioned that if we were to move on my family's farm into my grandmother's house and help her out with bills and some rent it could be a win/win situation. After moving almost two weeks ago, I feel like I'm exactly where I need to be at. We live on the Hancock Farm (a little over 400 acres) and my kids have all the room in the world to run and explore. They love it here and so do I. Brant moved in as well and he and I have decided to little by little fix up the house. It's an old farm house with so much potential. We love it here and feel so much at home. Plus my Nannie (the kids refer to her as Big Nannie) is enjoying the company. She's 83 and is still very much active in the community, she just needs help with things.
So we've been busy packing, moving and unpacking and organizing. With all of that, I've had two kids come down with pink eye along with colds. Grrrrrrr, darn germs. I'll be glad when everything settles down and I'm able to catch a breath. I just need to keep reminding myself that I can't accomplish everything in one day.

Just a couple views outside of our "new" home. Being back on the farm is so peaceful and a great place to raise my kids. (I forgot to mention that I in fact lived here for the first 3 years of my life)

At with work with Mommy b/c he didn't feel good.

Yep, he had pink eye but he was still goofy! <3 that boy so much

Thankful.........

It's November and we all find time to share how thankful we are. I haven't been following the challenge on FB but that doesn't mean I'm not Thankful. I'm extremely thankful for what God has given me. For those who closely know me, know that I was in a ruff situation in the past. I'm thankful for the decision I made almost 2 years ago to better my life and my children's as well. It's been a ruff year and a half and it's still going to be a rocky journey but I'm still very thankful that I was strong enough to get out of a bad place. God gave me two great parents that have loved me no matter what (flaws and all). I have no clue where I would be without their love/support/friendship. I also have some of the best friends a girl could ask for. People who love me for me (and all my quirky ways). I've also be given the chance to fall head over heels in love with a guy who loves/supports me and every decision I have/need to make. He is my best friend and I really don't know how lucky I got to have him come into my life and my kids. He loves my kids like they are his own and to see him, H, D & M all interact warms my heart so much. It's to the point now that when I pick the kids up they IMMEDIATELY ask for him and where he's at or is going to be home when they get there. Yep, Mom doesn't matter anymore, LOL. Speaking of H, D & M, words can NEVER express how truly THANKFUL I am to God for choosing me to be their Mommy. They've blessed my life in ways I never, ever could imagine. They are my heart and soul and I'll love them forever and always. I've got an amazing family, friends and support group. I'm just truly thankful to have the life I have right now.

Another long overdue post

Yep, I officially suck at updating this blog. Well there is always something new in my life. Work is crazy busy. I'm back at Indian head and I'm loving my 20 minute commute to work. Harley started 1st grade and Derek started Kindergarten. Ugh, I hate that my kiddos are growing up. I took another part time job. Christmas is coming up and that means presents for not just one kid but three and their list are a little expensive.
Their father and I are not seeing eye to eye on our current custody arrangement so I've got that I'm dealing with. I think things are finally starting to take it's toll on the kids and I have seen a big dip in their attitudes. Not liking that one bit.
The guy that I've been seeing off and on since last October, we finally sat down and decided that this relationship was worth a real try. The kids love him and he loves them right back. What's awesome is that his family is very excepting of me and the kids and that has been such a relief to me.
My BFF just got married this past weekend. It was a beautiful wedding that I was honored to be apart of. Harley was the flower girl, Derek was the ring bearer and Melissa handed out the programs.
