I got some very sad news this morning. My good friend Erin Graves (used to be Erin Jo Rye) called to tell me that my old show horse Bradley OsGood, aka Boomer, had passed away sometime late last night / early this morning. Earlier this year we had lost the first horse we had ever owned. 2010 just hasn't been a good year for horses.
Boomer and I had shared a bond like no other! I could do so much with this horse. He truly was amazing. Whenever he walked into the barn, you knew it because he had a distinct walk. Boomer would always nicker to you when you came into the barn too!!!! He was just a happy boy. His all time favorite treats were Ring Pops!!!!! He LOVED THEM. He also liked peppermints, the hard life savers candy, pepperoni pizza and Doritos!! It seemed like whatever I was eating; Boomer was begging to have some too!!! Boomer and I really did well in the Quarter Horse world. We won everything that was in my age division. It came time to step up to another horse so I had to sell Boomer. If we could of afforded it at the time, Boomer would of never left The Hancock Family! My mom’s best friend Judy Rye and her daughter Erin have always loved Boomer and when the opportunity presented itself, Erin purchased him. I was overjoyed b/c I knew that he would be taken care of and that I would have all the access to him I wanted!!!!
R.I.P Boomer!!!!! I’m going to miss you boy!!!!! You are and will always be my #1 Favorite Horse and no other horse could ever replace you!!!!!
